Don’t sleep on Miesha Tate!
The former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion has the hands to hang with reigning 135-pound titleholder Holly Holm, to the point where famed striking coach Gil Martinez believes “Cupcake” can win her UFC 196 co-main event by way of knockout.
“I’d actually love to work with Miesha for the next fight,” Martinez told MMAjunkie.com. “I think I could be a good part of her team and definitely teach her how to beat Holly. Sure, outstrike her and even knock her out. Anything can happen.”
The Holm camp agrees, Tate is DANGEROUS!
Tate hasn’t knocked anyone out since 2009 and has just three of her 17 wins by way of KO/TKO — compared to seven of 10 for Holm — but maybe she just needs someone like Martinez to show her the way. I’m sure that kind of knowledge would make this guy feel a whole lot better.
