UFC welterweight Colby Covington riled up fans once again, but for a different reason.
Colby Covington has become one of the most villainous figures in all of MMA. The UFC welterweight contender has come under fire for his remarks towards Brazilians and the country as a whole, engaged in a heated confrontation with ex-heavyweight champ Fabricio Werdum, and recently took aim at Kenny Florian over a segment on UFC Tonight.
Up next in Covington’s never-ending quest to troll the world, spoiling the ending to the just-released Star Wars: The Last Jedi film. We won’t reveal the spoiler itself (obviously), but rather copy-and-paste everything else that Colby wrote in the same tweet.
Saved you nerds 2h 33m of your virgin lives. You’re welcome. Try something new, its ladies night. Go get laid.
#starwars#LastJedi#MyHatersAreAllVirgins
While it is unclear as to whether or not Covington was referencing Kool and the Gang’s smash hit “Ladies Night” in that tweet, what is clear is that most of the responses were probably what he wanted… that is, lots of hate.
You’re trying too hard. It makes you look a bit desperate for attention.

I was on the @ColbyCovMMA train until this post. I agree with everything said about Brazil and its fans. Not really into to star wars but there’s better ways to get attention than spoiling movies.

Please please @TWooodley end this dude. I think we’ve all seen enough

In fairness, there are some who did enjoy Covington’s act, and there are many others who had negative things to say about Colby, but their tweets are not really suitable for re-publishing here.
Covington has since responded to the backlash he received on Thursday by issuing a heartfelt apology to Star Wars fans who hadn’t yet seen the movie expressing no regrets whatsoever.
“There’s a couple hundred that are pissed off and want me dead, want my head, that want ISIS to burn my family,” Covington told MMAjunkie Radio. “So a lot of virgins and nerds out there mad at Colby Covington.”
Right now, Covington (13-1) does not have a fight booked, but on the heels of his win over Demian Maia, he’s the #3 ranked welterweight contender on the UFC roster, so a title shot isn’t too far away for the 29-year-old.
