A fight between Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington is inevitable at this point.
The two American Top Team (ATT) teammates have some bad blood that needs to be settled. Following a successful welterweight title defense at UFC 228, Woodley is ready to refocus he attention on “Chaos.”
There’s no shortage of promotion for the potential match-up on Covington’s end. He spoke to BJPenn.com and said the fight has already been built:
“It’s been built,” Covington said. “The hooks are in. The world needs to know the way the event needs to be marketed. He’s a soft *** little liberal snowflake. I’m a f*cking badass mother f*cking Republican.
“He’s like Hillary Clinton in a way. He’s crooked. That’s why we call him two-faced Tyrone. You can’t trust anything he says. I’m more like Trump. I’m grabbing all these p-ssies, and I’m putting them in their place.”
Furthermore, Covington said that he has some serious dirt on Woodley, that would not only ruin his career, but his life:
“There are some things,” Covington said. “I got some ace of spades in my back pocket. If that dude, if he slips up with anything, he’s… I got real dirt on him. I know some real sh-t. Some real storylines that would ruin his career, and ruin his life, really.”
Woodley defeated Darren Till in Dallas, Texas earlier this month to successfully defend his title. Earlier this summer Covington picked up a big win over former 155-pound champion Rafael dos Anjos.
The two men are at the top of their games at the moment. A fight between the pair would certainly be an interesting stylistic match-up given their respective grappling abilities. However, Woodley has looked dominant in recent years and has shown no signs of slowing down.
If Covington looks to pull off the upset, he’ll truly have to bring the “Chaos” to “T-Wood.”
