According to Colby Covington, Kamaru Usman has no intentions of fighting at Madison Square Garden.

It was originally teased that reigning welterweight champ Kamaru Usman would headline the upcoming UFC 244 PPV opposite former interim titleholder Colby Covington, but the UFC went ahead and booked Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal instead.

Usman, who has yet to defend his welterweight title, recently caught the attention of Covington after ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ posted a tweet about wanting to fight at UFC 244 in New York.

Covington, however, claims ‘Marty FakeNewsman’ never had any intentions of fighting on the card.

“Bitch, you don’t want to fight. Saying dumb shit like this is why they call you Marty FakeNewsman,” Covington posted on Friday.

‘Chaos’ is willing to accept other fights if Usman refuses to defend his welterweight title, as the 31-year-old recently called out the Diaz brothers and teammate Masvidal.

“Whether it’s Nick Diaz, whether it’s Nate Diaz the journeyman who is barely a .500-level fighters, they’ve got Stockton slaps but they ain’t ready for MAGA-bombs. Those guys have speech impediments. They don’t know what wrestling is. They have lisps in their voice,” Covington said.

“Whether it’s the Diaz’s, whether it’s my best friend (Jorge Masvidal), whether it’s Marty Fakenewsman, this belt will be defended Nov. 2 at Madison Square Garden because that’s what Donald Trump wants.”

UFC 244: Masvidal vs. Diaz is scheduled to take place on November 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
