Michael Chiesa recently called out former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight champion for a showdown at the upcoming UFC 232 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Dec. 29, 2018, and the promotion seems to be all on board, though hit has yet to officially announce the paring.
But according to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, the 170-pound collision has been booked to go down at the year-end event, which would mark “Maverick’s” first fight in the division. Indeed, Michael decided to move up a weight class after failing to make weight for her previous Lightweight scrap against Anthony Pettis at UFC 226 earlier this year.
The loss was Chiesa’s second in a row, so perhaps a move up would be a clean start all the way around.
As for Condit, he hasn’t had the best run inside the Octagon as of late, losing four straight and five of six overall with his last win coming against Thiago Alves back in 2015. After flirting with retirement, “The Natural Born Killer” couldn’t bring himself to walking away from the hurt business, and is glad to play host to Chiesa at Welterweight.

As it stands, UFC 232 is set to feature a women’s Featherweight title fight that will see division champion Cris Cyborg defend her title against current women’s Bantamweight queen, Amanda Nunes. Also, B.J. Penn will make his return to the cage to face Ryan Hall in lightweight action.
