Conor McGregor does a good thing outside the cage.

It’s been a — well, an adventure for Conor McGregor in recent months. There was the whole bus attack you may have heard of that the UFC immediately condemned, but is suddenly mining for narrative content leading up to UFC 229 now that Dana White remembers what dollar signs look like.

You may have read about Conor’s proximity to Irish war gangs (not unlike the ones that Jackie Chan movie I thought was way better than it had any right to be). He’s been “called” out by Luke Rockhold and Chechen politicians.

But amidst the complete circus, Conor did something nice, thoughtful, and genuine.

Grainne McCullough’s son Bru, has undergone a nasogastric intubation since September, and since found it difficult to get better medical care. After setting up a GoFundMe account, her goal was 10,000 Euro. McGregor was kind enough to answer her prayers.

It’s only eight more days until McGregor fights Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC Lightweight Championship this October 6, at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada.
