There are plenty of professional athletes, like basketball deity Lebron James, who earn more than Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight titleholder Conor McGregor.
But when it comes down to how much income is generated per second of actual time spent competing, “Notorious” is second only to boxing megastar Floyd Mayweather Jr., who not surprisingly, outdraws McGregor and fellow UFC money machine Ronda Rousey combined.

And for the ladies:
Impressive.
McGregor earned $1,000,000 for his submission loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 196 last month in Las Vegas, Nevada. By comparison, Mayweather — who earned close to $200 million for beating Manny Pacquiao — was guaranteed a $32,000,000 purse for outclassing Andre Berto.
And that’s before getting to his cut of the pay-per-view (PPV).
McGregor rematches Diaz at UFC 200 this July (details) and a win, particularly one in the opening frame, will inch him closer to the high “Money” mark.
So close, yet so far.
