Conor McGregor makes his pick in a fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson.
Several fighters already made their prediction for the long overdue fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson. And so far, the likes of Brian Ortega and Jeremy Stephens are liking “El Cucuy’s” chances.
Conor McGregor, however, is favoring “The Eagle” to come out victorious.
“It would be an interesting one,” McGregor said in a recent public appearance in Russia (via MMA Fighting). “I think Khabib would probably beat him. Again, we’ve got to see what the circumstances are.
“Anyone can win on any given day. Tony is a formidable fighter also. He’s very, very tough. He does go down, he does get dropped, his guard has been passed, (and) he’s been mounted by a lesser fighter.
“I would favor Khabib in that bout,” he added.
“The Notorious” has had the opportunity to share the Octagon with Khabib, when they fought at UFC 229 in October 2018. He lost via fourth-round submission.
As for the Khabib-Ferguson fight, UFC president Dana White admits it “needs to happen”, while also stating his interest in a matchup between Khabib and Georges St-Pierre.
