While UFC 196 is firmly behind him, that doesn’t mean that Conor McGregor is quite done with Nate Diaz, as the Irishman states that he’d be on board with a rematch.
Welcome to Rematch-Town: Population 500. It seems everyone in the UFC is looking to get one back these days. Certainly in the realm of current and former champions, rematches are the plat du jour. The latest to add his name to that list is Conor McGregor and no, it’s not Jose Aldo on his mind. The current UFC featherweight champion recently spoke to TMZ where he said he’ll be on the lookout for a rematch with Nate Diaz at some point down the line (transcript via MMAFighting).
“I think I’d like to see that, yea?” McGregor said of a future rematch with Diaz. “I mean, it’s one that interests me, most certainly. You know, when I look at the fight I was winning the fight. I won the first round and a half, I feel. I’d love to get that one back. We’ll see how it goes. Money talks. Life is good.”
McGregor also entertained the idea of taking another page out of the Floyd Mayweather playbook and walking out with Justin Bieber in his corner. Maybe get a little of that “Money” magic that goes with it.
