A recent tweet from Conor McGregor sent Paulie Malignaggi into a Twitter frenzy.
Not this again.
This time last year, UFC star Conor McGregor released sparring footage of a session with former two-weight boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi, who was sent in to help the Irishman prepare for Floyd Mayweather Jr.
That footage, which appeared to show McGregor flooring Malignaggi, soon went viral and the two fighters went back-and-forth on social media, and in person, for what seemed like months.
Well, they’re back at it again, as McGregor was keen to remind Malignaggi of their controversial sparring session on social media.
Time flies when you are on your ass. https://t.co/YDhLHi2p0o

Let’s just hope, for the sake of combat sports fans worldwide, that this latest round of trash talk doesn’t resurrect any talks of a possible fight between the two rivals. McGregor, 30, is expected to challenge the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title at UFC 229. The highly anticipated pay-per-view takes place on Oct. 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
