Conor McGregor’s father Tony reacts to reports about his son’s life being in danger.

As of the moment, Conor McGregor’s father Tony is not bothered by the reported threats on his son’s life. These are stemming from the Sunday night bar brawl Conor was allegedly involved in, where witnesses saw him punch a man who turned is believed to be a member of the Kinahan cartel.

Other rumors have also circulated claiming Tony is currently meeting with the Kinahans, and that the cartel is asking for €900,000 for the McGregor family’s safety. On Thursday, the elder McGregor gave his own reactions to the news when he spoke to The Irish Mirror outside his home in Lucan, Dublin.

“That’s all nonsense. Absolute nonsense. It’s an absolute nonsense story,” Tony said.

“It’s grown legs and it’s getting that ridiculous – it’s become funny. We have nothing to fear here whatsoever. There’s no one after us for anything. “We’re a law-abiding family and we’ve stayed a law-abiding family.”

In light of the reported incident, Irish crime reporter Paul Williams stated that the UFC lightweight champion could be in danger and that Ireland’s police force Garda will be offering protection.

Tony McGregor, however, sees no point in doing so.

“Guards have no reason to be in touch,” he said. “Why would they?”

“We’re all just settling down for Christmas now. I’ve just got the grandson’s presents in today, they just came in from America. I’ll be wrapping them, putting them under the tree for the big day. That’s it.”

McGregor himself simply dismissed the rumors, while also daring those who are supposedly a threat to his life to “come and get him.”
