Check out what happened at Dana White’s Contender Series 15, where each of the matchups ended inside the distance.

The seventh week of the 2018 season of Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series just concluded with Roosevelt Roberts dominating Garret Gross on the ground to ultimately achieve a second round RNC. Before that, Don’tale Mayes endured the early haymakers of Mitchell Sipe in the first round to pick up a bloody TKO on the ground in the second. Ian Heinisch scored a violent first round knockout when he blasted Justin Sumter with a series of devastating elbows on the ground. Jordan Griffin also had an outstanding showing tonight, sniffing out a first round club-and-sub of Maurice Mitchell. Opening up the card, Juan Adams put the hurt on his opponent, mauling Shawn Teed with ground strikes to achieve a first round TKO. At the end of the show, Dana White awarded contracts to Juan Adams, Ian Heinisch, and Roosevelt Roberts, and Jordan Griffin.

Roosevelt Roberts def. Garret Gross by submission (RNC) at 2:13 of round 2: Lightweight

Roberts attacked a standing guillotine right away, but Gross was able to fight it off. After failing to get a takedown, Gross gave one up himself and spent a lot of time protecting his neck. Roberts continued to control his opponent for the rest of the round. Gross started the second round with urgency, closing the distance behind his strikes, but gave up the takedown in the process. Roberts alternated between sub hunting and dropping blows, which ultimately opened up the neck for an RNC.

Don’tale Mayes def. Mitchell Sipe by TKO at 4:49 of round 2: Heavyweight

Sipe came out swinging for the fences, and got dropped from an accidental headbutt as a result of his aggression, but quickly stood back on his feet. The pace slowed down just a bit, with Sipe scoring a takedown. Mayes scrambled up to his feet, and was accidentally kicked in the cup. The athletes accidentally clashed heads upon the restart, but they both fought through it. Sipe pushed forward, landing a couple of good shots before the round ended.

Sipe continued to throw haymakers in the second frame, but Mayes was right there to fire back punches and leg kicks of his own. Mayes landed a spinning backfist followed by a bit of clinching, which had Sipe looking rather labored. A slick elbow opened up a gushing cut over the left eye of Sipe, but the doctor allowed the bout to continue. Mayes found top position and started to batter his opponent with relentless strikes. After a puddle of blood formed on the Octagon floor, the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.

Ian Heinisch def. Justin Sumter by KO at 3:37 of round 1: Middleweight

Sumter found a takedown about a minute into the opening round, and transitioned to the back after a botched armbar attempt from Heinisch. Sumter wasn’t able to maintain control, giving Heinisch the chance to spin around and end up on top. After a few short punches, Heinisch switched to some vicious elbows that put Sumter out cold.

Jordan Griffin def. Maurice Mitchell by submission (RNC) at 3:57 of round 1: Featherweight

Griffin clocked his foe with a straight early in the opening round, knocking out the mouthpiece of Mitchell. The favor was returned when Mitchell clocked Griffin with a cross that got his attention. Mitchell had a moment on the ground, attempting a north/south choke, but Griffin creatively walked up the cage to flip out of the hold. Back on the feet, Griffin duffed his opponent with a looping left, dropping him and then instantly jumping on his neck. Mitchell was dead to rights with his legs folded behind himself and frantically tapped out.

Juan Adams def. Shawn Teed by TKO at 4:17 of round 1: Heavyweight

The heavyweights went right at it, exchanging punches in the pocket before Teed began to back up. Adams pressed forward and started tagging his opponent, but Teed hung tough and returned fire. Teed found top position and landed several hard ground strikes, and then landed even more. Blow after blow rained down from Adams, and the referee finally stepped in to call off the bout.
