Luis Pena was set to Alex Munoz at UFC Fight Night 169, which is set to go down this Saturday (Feb. 29, 2020) in Norfolk, Virginia streaming exclusively on ESPN+. But an injury has now changed things up, as Munoz was forced out of the event with an unfortunate health setback.
No fret, Octagon newcomer Steve Garcia has agreed to step in and face “Violent Bob Ross” on a week’s notice according to MMA Junkie. Winner of four straight, Garcia was last seen defeating Jose Mariscal at LFA 80 on Jan. 17. Prior to that, Garcia proved victorious on Dana White’s Contender Series, (DWTNCS), defeating Desmond Torres via first round knockout.
Pena, meanwhile, recently inked a new deal with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after coming up short in his previous bout against Matt Frevola.
UFC Norfolk will be headlined by a Flyweight title fight as Joseph Benavidez and Deiveson Figueiredo will collide for the vacant 125-pound title. In the o-headlining act, Felicia Spencer and Zarah Fairn dos Santos will face off in a pivotal women’s featherweight bout.
