The deal is done, the contract is signed. Now we’re just waiting on the UFC to announce who Prochazka will fight and when.
What’s next for Jiri Prochazka? According to the “Czech Samurai,” we won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
Prochazka has been rumored to be next in line for a light heavyweight title fight against Alex Pereira. This is despite the fact that Pereira just TKO’d him last November. But UFC matchmakers seem to like the idea after both men competed and won their respective fights at UFC 300.
Now Prochazka has revealed that he has signed a bout agreement for his next fight and is just waiting on the UFC to announce it. That news came on Saturday night in the Czech Republic as Jiri enjoyed Oktagon 58, a big stadium show in Prague.

The first Pereira vs. Prochazka fight went down at UFC 295 in Madison Square Garden, where it was elevated from co-main to main after Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic fell through. “Poatan” would finish “BJP” early into the second round off a sloppy takedown attempt, hammering him with elbows to the side of the head.
There was some controversy over the finish, though. Some fans were upset when Jiri popped back up to his feet immediately after the stoppage, calling it early. We’d like to point out that Pereira would have kept smashing Prochazka’s skull in if the ref hadn’t prevented it. And Prochazka agreed the stoppage was proper, because a true samurai doesn’t whine about such things, does he?
Now we just have to wait and see if Prochazka has gotten his chance at revenge, and when. We’ll keep our ear to the ground and let you know as soon as more information is available.
