Sean O’Malley and Kris Moutinho faced off earlier tonight (Sat., July 10, 2021) at UFC 264 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. O’Malley put on an incredibly dominant performance, while Moutinho proved himself unbelievable tough, earning his UFC roster spot.
In the first round, it appeared to be an O’Malley showcase. “Suga” couldn’t miss, and though Moutinho gamely walked forward, the damage was adding up quickly. Near the end of the first, O’Malley came damn close to a stoppage following a knockdown. Moutinho didn’t exactly storm back in the second, but he started landing a bit in and continued to push forward. The third continued at a similar pace, before referee Herb Dean called it with just 30 seconds remaining, as Moutinho stood his ground and threw punches.

Though the ultimate outcome didn’t really change, Moutinho is surely disappointed in the stoppage. On the plus side, he surely earned some fans with his toughness. Meanwhile, O’Malley put on an absolute showcase, proving his hype with a real display of dynamic skill.
