Brock Lesnar stole Cormier’s spotlight after UFC 226, and now it sounds like Cormier would like to return the favor at WrestleMania 35.
Daniel Cormier vs. Brock Lesnar is a fight that once came so close to happening, the two got into a shoving match in the Octagon to drum up interest in it. But that was a while ago — July of 2018, to be specific.
Since then, Lesnar signed a new deal with the WWE and hasn’t been heard from by UFC brass since. Dana White admitted as much in recent press interviews, but remains optimistic that Lesnar and “DC” will throw down later this year.
Daniel Cormier was in the house at UFC on ESPN+ 6: Pettis vs. “Wonderboy” working commentary, and after the show he talked to SportsCenter about the potential match-up.
”I don’t have a fight exactly scheduled yet, but I got my eyes on Brock Lesnar,” Cormier said. “I may go to the WWE WrestleMania, and I may go cost him his title over there so he can hurry up and get to the UFC so I can beat him here.”

As big fans of Cormier know, the double champ is a big fan of the WWE and has attended Wrestlemania in the past. Could “DC” end up participating in WrestleMania 35 on April 7th as something more?
Thus far the UFC and WWE have been engaged in a pretty expensive tug of war when it comes to Lesnar, so we have our doubts that WWE brass would help one of their biggest draws transition back into the MMA world. But funny things happen when a lot of money is on the table, and the only way you’ll know for sure is to tune in when the big event goes down.
