Paulo Costa continues to lambast Israel Adesanya after seeing the latter’s performance at UFC 248.

The hype behind UFC 248’s headliner between Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero brought in expectations of a noteworthy fight. Instead, fans were treated to the exact opposite and were left disappointed.

Watching from cage side was top middleweight contender Paulo Costa, who wanted to see how “The Last Stylebender” does against Romero. After seeing it all unfold, “Borrachinha” had seemingly lost more respect towards the reigning undefeated champion.

“Man, what sh-t was that? Shameful. Shameful fight,” Costa told TSN’s Aaron Brosteter during a post-fight interview. “Adesanya is the most shameful champion I have seen, ever. He doesn’t deserve (to be champion). He’s afraid.

“I’ve said that he’s afraid. He’s fragile.”

Costa fought a more action-packed fight against “The Soldier of God” when they faced each other at UFC 241 last August. The Brazilian won via unanimous decision and an extra $50,000 for Fight of the Night.

He was originally slated to challenge Adesanya, but was forced to the sidelines by a bicep injury. Per UFC president Dana White, Costa gets the next title shot as long as he gets proper medical clearance.
