UFC Vegas 20 is down one fight after Raoni Barcelos tested positive for COVID-19, forcing him to withdraw from his scheduled bout against Marcelo Rojo, which was set to go down this Saturday night (Feb. 27) at UFC Vegas 20 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Brazilian star — who was looking to collect his tenth straight win, fifth inside the Octagon — was originally lined up to face Raphael Assuncao but that bout was put on ice after Assuncao withdrew for undisclosed reasons a few weeks ago. Rojo — who got the call up to fill in for Assuncao a few days ago — desperately wants to remain on the card, posting an open challenge for anyone willing to step in on a week’s notice.

One can’t blame Rojo for being disappointed and eager to fight because he was set to achieve his dream of finally fighting inside the Octagon after a lengthy stint on the regional circuit, as well as a good run under the Combate Americas banner.
“Pitbull” amassed a nice 6-2 mark for Combate Americas and was last seen defeating Victor Huge Madrigal in September of 2019. The lengthy layoff is another reason Rojo hopes the promotion can find a late replacement to fill the void.
