The UFC’s top troll predicts that Jorge Masvidal will ‘price himself out’ of a fight with Kamaru Usman.
Divisive UFC welterweight Colby Covington, last seen being defeated by current 170 lb champion Kamaru Usman, told MMA Fighting what he thinks will happen with some of his division’s biggest draws.
In his latest screed, filled with the kind of insults and nicknames that would make his personal hero U.S. President Donald Trump proud, Covington revealed that he didn’t think the streaking Jorge Masvidal would be fighting Usman for the title anytime soon.
“To be honest, I’m calling it right now — let all the people know. Let Dana [White] and all the people know in this interview that ‘Street Judas’ also known as ‘Journeyman’ Jorge Masvidal is not going to fight ‘Marty Fakenewsman’ [Kamaru Usman]. He’s going to wait and price himself out.”
“He’s going to try and wait to fight ‘Con Man’ [Conor] McGregor, the little Irish leprechaun, who couldn’t knock an old dude off a bar stool,” continued Covington — referring to a 2019 bar assault, which McGregor plead guilty to in November.
“The guy’s got no f*cking power. He couldn’t fight himself out of a wet paper bag. But we’re not talking about ‘Con Man’ McGregor. We’re talking about ‘Street Judas.’ He’s going to think he’s worth more, his value is more and he’s going to wait for Conor or even a Nate Diaz rematch, the soy boy, because everybody knows those Stockton slaps don’t do sh*t. He’s going to price himself out.”
At UFC 244 in November Masvidal beat Diaz thanks to a fight ending cut. That win resulted in Masvidal lifting the UFC’s novelty ‘BMF’ belt. Prior to that win Masvidal knocked out both Ben Askren and Darren Till.
Usman’s last fight was his win over Covington. That was the Nigerian’s first title defense since he won the belt from Tyron Woodley last March.
Covington, who lost by fifth round TKO to Usman, has blamed referee Marc Goddard for the defeat as he campaigns for a rematch. He told MMA Fighting that he expects to get his second crack at Usman this July.
