Colby Covington calls out a who’s who of UFC fighters, including ‘syrup’ sucking Canadian Georges St-Pierre.

Colby Covington is determined to fight the winner of the upcoming welterweight title bout between Tyron Woodley and Darren Till at UFC 228 but, should either man decide to take a hiatus after Sept. 8, ‘Chaos’ has a list of alternative names he’d be willing to fight.

“There’s only a couple of fights that would make sense for me. There’s obviously defending my undisputed belt against the No. 1 contender winner — Darrell “Doughboy” Till or Tyquil Woodley — but there’s some other fights that present themselves,” Covington told Damon Martin of MMA Weekly in a recent interview.

First on the list is former welterweight and middleweight champion, Georges St-Pierre, who is rumored to return to the Octagon later this year, possibly in Toronto, Canada.

Covington put the ‘syrup sucker’ on blast by disputing his claim as one of the greatest fighters of all time.

“GSP, that little syrup sucker, he can come get this. He thinks he’s the greatest welterweight of all time. I have something else to say about that. I’ll destroy him. I’ll send him back to Canada crying. He can eat his little poutine there. I’m going to get my poon-tang here in America like a real American champion.”

Next on the list is Nick Diaz who, despite not having fought in over three years, is still one of the most talked about fighters on the UFC roster.

“Nick Diaz is another guy,” Covington said. “If he stops beating women, he can come get it, too. He’s probably going broke soon cause he’s been in jail and he’s spending all his money on drugs. He can come get this ass whooping, too.”

Covington finally turned his attention to lightweight standouts Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, who will collide for the official 155-pound strap at UFC 229 on October 6. Covington is open to a welterweight title fight with the winner of that matchup, should Khabib or McGregor decide to move up a weight class in pursuit of another world title.

“There’s a couple lightweights — Khabib [Nurmagomedov] and Conor [McGregor] — if they want to make a claim to another belt, I’ve got the undisputed welterweight belt. So those fights might present themselves,” Covington said. “Besides those fights, that’s the only ones out there in the universe for me right now.”

Covington, 30, is still listed as the interim welterweight champion despite being recently snubbed over a title unification bout vs. Woodley. The American Top Team standout is expected to be stripped of the interim belt after Woodley and Till officially make weight for UFC 228, which takes place next month, September 8 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
