Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender Colby Covington has been spending a lot of time with U.S. President Donald Trump over the last couple of years, including last month’s presidential rally in Henderson, Nevada.
That specific appearance led to speculation that Covington may have contracted coronavirus after Trump reported a positive test late last week, but “Chaos” recently told his Instagram followers that he’s “COVID free” before taking aim at “Hollywood slime.”
“For the people who constantly slander my name, but are all of a sudden concerned with my health and well being: I’m COVID free,” Covington said. “I’ve been tested seven times in the past three weeks, including prior to and after meeting with the POTUS. I was also tested during fight week, as well as before and after the debate. ALL NEGATIVE.”
“Speaking of ALL NEGATIVE, how about all the slime in Hollywood and woke sports wishing harm on a 74 year old grandfather!?! How tolerant! Unfortunately for them and fortunately for America, Donald Trump is a fighter!!!”
Trump, who returned to office after receiving medical treatment for coronavirus, is up for re-election in November and has already bagged one presidential debate against democratic nominee Joe Biden (with Covington in attendance).
As for “Chaos,” he’s in negotiations to battle former teammate and top welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal at some point later this year, or perhaps early 2021, though “Gamebred” has yet to put pen to paper.
