Colby Covington is back to stirring up controversies as he now targets rapper 50 Cent.
Colby Covington rose to recognition through his own brand of trash-talk, which many within the MMA community have deemed as cringeworthy, to say the least. After a brief period of silence since he lost to Kamaru Usman at UFC 245 last December, “Chaos” is back at it, this time targeting rapper 50 Cent.
“If you want to talk about people who had to get their jaw wired shut, let’s talk about 50 Cent,” Covington said Monday on the Ariel Helwani MMA Show on ESPN (transcript by Low Kick MMA). “A guy who says, ‘oh I got shot 9 times.’ If he got shot one time by me, he wouldn’t get back up. 50 Cent’s a b-tch.”
Covington apparently took the celebrity’s post-fight comments personally, and now he wants some form of revenge.
“Because he came out after the fight and was talking mad crap on me,” he explained. “He was saying all this stuff. … I want to propose here on the Ariel Helwani show today — I want to do a celebrity boxing match. I’m going to tie one hand behind my back and I’m going to fight 50 Cent.
“I’m going to put $1 million of my dollars and I’m going to fight 50 Cent in a celebrity boxing match. And I’m going to donate all my money to the troops.”
Covington also went on to deny that he had his jaw broken during the Usman fight, despite medical reports confirming that he did.
