Julian Marquez will attempt to earn his second straight win when he takes on longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran, Sam Alvey, at an upcoming event on April 10. According to MMA Junkie, Marquez got the call to step in on a month’s notice after Alvey’s original opponent, Zak Cummings, was forced out of the event with an injury.
Marquez was last seen defeating Maki Pitolo at UFC 258 (see it here). Afterward, Marquez really came into the spotlight after expressing his interest in pop sensation, Miley Cyrus. Much to his delight, Cyrus actually responded and showed mutual interest. All the 185-pound combatant had to do was shave her initials on his chest hair and the possibilities could have been endless. But when “The Cuban Missile Crises” countered with a request of his own, whatever shot he had seemingly vanished into thin air.
So close.
Now, the hard-hitting Middleweight hopes to collect his second straight win against Alvey, who fought to a draw in his last outing at UFC 254 in Oct. 2020 against Da Un Jung. Prior to that, “Smile’n” had dropped his last four.
The event — which will be the promotion’s second card to air on ABC — will be headlined by a pivotal 185-pound showdown between Darren Till and Marvin Vettori.
