Former Strikeforce Middleweight champion Cung Le is set to take on Scott Smith on June 26 as part of the Strikeforce: Fedor Vs. Werdum card which will be aired on Showtime at 10 eastern and pacific. Le will look to avenge his surpise ending loss to Smith, the first of his career, as he takes to the cage while in between movie projects. Le has had much more time to prepare for the bout, and seems to be read to follow the strategy laid out by his corner, as was evidence by his words during a recent interview with MMAMania:

Well, I’m definitely gonna listen to my corner more. I’m still gonna come out guns blazing because that’s what I do. But in the 3rd round, my corner told me to kinda go in and out and stay busy because I already had the fight won. But I tried to knock him out, ended up blowing my wad, and got caught. It was a bad decision on my part. I should have listened to my corner. I learned the hard way. The saying is very true that you ‘learn more from a loss then a win.’ I’ll be sticking to my game plan this time around. I just have to fight a smarter fight.

Le seems to have some pretty solid thoughts as he was easily winning the fight before Smith finished him off. This should be a great fight between two solid strikers, with a win setting up a third match between the two(rumored). Bring on the stand up war.
