A bout for the new women’s featherweight title will headline UFC 208.
The newest UFC title will be competed for in the main event of UFC 208. The event, which goes down February 11th in Brooklyn, will be headlined by Holly Holm vs. Germaine de Randamie for the UFC women’s featherweight title. UFC president Dana White confirmed the news in an interview with Fox 5 in New York (via MMA Weekly).
The move was widely expected, considering they didn’t have another title bout to add to the card.
Holm enters the bout on a two-fight losing streak, but those came at 135 pounds. De Randamie has won two in a row, with them coming at bantamweight as well.
The winner of the fight was expected to fight Cris Cyborg next, but her positive test has left her with USADA issues that might take a while to get resolved.
The show doesn’t have a confirmed co-main event yet, but it could come in the heavyweight division with Travis Browne taking on Derrick Lewis.
