LAS VEGAS, NEVADA- That’s a wrap for “Pitbull.”
Former UFC Heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski lost an absolutely dreadful split decision last night (Sat., June 29, 2024) to Martin Buday from inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. There are literally zero highlights to show, so don’t go looking.

The loss to Buday was Arlovski’s fourth in a row, and now he is on his fourth four-fight losing streak of his 60-fight career.
“Pitbull” was one of four older UFC veterans (Cub Swanson, Anthony Smith, Michelle Waterson) on UFC 303. UFC CEO Dana White was asked about Arlovski’s loss during the UFC 303 post-fight press conference (watch here).
“Yeah, this is Andre’s last fight,” White told the media. “I don’t know what Cub’s going to do. You know, obviously, Smith is already part of the team here and working here. I don’t know. We’ll see how it all plays out, but you know, all people that we truly respect and care about, so we’ll see what happens.”
White received some criticism for announcing Arlovski’s retirement or release because the long-time UFC veteran did not receive a retirement package like Waterson did (watch it).
Nevertheless, Arlovski fought 42 times inside the promotion on two different stints, capturing the UFC Heavyweight title in his first go around. He ends his legendary UFC run with a 23-18-1 record.
While he has not been fun to watch over the last several years, he did have one of the best one-round fights of all time with Travis Browne, so there is that.
