I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family…
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre told the mixed martial arts (MMA) community that he finally buried the hatchet with promotion president and former meanie Dana White.
And here I thought it was merely lip service.
“My relationship has never been better with GSP,” White told Postmedia News. “I’m glad we got together.”
I’m sure we’re all glad, even though we’re no closer to an actual return.
That hasn’t stopped UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping from campaigning for a potential super fight against the longtime king of pay-per-view (PPV) buys, which could have happened as early as UFC 206 this December in Toronto.
White, however, insists it’s merely a pipe dream.
Nevertheless, St-Pierre continues to negotiate with Ari Emanuel, new owner of UFC after last summer’s blockbuster acquisition. Let’s hope his relationship with GSP is as good as White’s, or perhaps even better.
I’d hate to see this prediction come true.
