The UFC president says Jose Aldo’s recent demands to leave the promotion are ridiculous and plans to solve the issue in a meeting next week.

Jose Aldo is firmly standing his ground. The interim featherweight champion requested to leave the UFC after it was announced that Conor McGregor would challenge Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title at UFC 205.

Aldo, who lost to the official 145-pound title to McGregor last year, was promised a rematch with the Irishman but the UFC brass decided that Alvarez vs. McGregor was best for business. ‘Scarface’ claims his request to leave the promotion has nothing to do with McGregor’s lightweight title shot and says he is willing to take a dive in his next fight if the UFC don’t terminate his contract.

Aldo will meet with Dana White next week and the UFC president thinks the interim champ is being a ‘little ridiculous’ with his demands.

“Jose Aldo and I will get together, probably next week, and we’ll talk about this,” White said to UFC Tonight hosts Daniel Cormier and Kenny Florian. “I think he’s being a little ridiculous about this. I’ll get him a fight. I’ll get him a fight all day long.”

Although White promises to ease the tension and get Aldo back in the Octagon, the Brazilian said that even a rematch with ‘The Notorious’ wouldn’t convince him to stay.

“If you look at that division (featherweight), it’s stacked,” White continued. “Holloway’s ready, he wants to fight. Anthony Pettis is in that division now. There’s a lot of talented guys there that he can fight. I can’t make Conor McGregor fight anybody.”

Aldo’s meeting with Dana White and the UFC brass is scheduled for October 19, and Bloody Elbow will keep you updated on the latest developments.
