Dana White says CM Punk will have to decide what’s next for himself if he loses his upcoming UFC debut. The UFC President appeared on the Grant and Danny Show on 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C. on Thursday and he discussed the subject of CM Punk’s first MMA fight. When asked “What’s next” if Punk loses in his debut fight, White said: “That’s going to be up to him.”
“He was a big fan of the UFC. He ended up leaving the WWE, and he said, ‘Dana, my dream is to fight in the UFC. I want to fight in the UFC. Will you let me fight?’ So, we’re giving him a fight,” White said. “We’re bringing in a kid (Mickey Gall) who has obviously a little more experience than he does. If he wins this fight this Saturday, [Gall] will be 2-0. Punk is 0-0. We’ll see how it plays out for him.
“[Punk] will decide what he wants to do after that.”
Mickey Gall is set to fight Michael Jackson at UFC Fight Night 82 this Saturday. If Gall is victorious, he’ll fight CM Punk at UFC 199 or UFC 200.
