The Arlovski vs. Struve fight at UFC 222 was a bust, but fortunately White had other viewing options.
While you were watching Saturday’s UFC 222 pay-per-view card, you might have noticed a couple of moments where you could swear they were just killing time for some reason. We’ve witnessed a lot of that on FOX Sports broadcasts after quick knockouts, but usually PPVs are full steam ahead from start to finish. We suspect the delays were to let the Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz fight end before getting to the more important fights on the card.
The UFC was certainly very aware of the Wilder fight. White has name-dropped the heavyweight boxer as a potential mega superstar, and rather than watch the Andrei Arlovski vs. Stefan Struve fight at UFC 222, White elected to check out Wilder vs. Ortiz instead.
UFC president Dana White is cageside at UFC 222 but would rather watch boxing instead. #UFC222, #WilderOrtiz pic.twitter.com/HlSx8IGAWa

The Wilder-Ortiz fight ended with Wilder landing a huge knockout in the 10th round and continuing his reign of excellence. Arlovski vs. Struve staggered to a tepid three round decision. We’d say White made the right choice.
