It wasn’t nearly as hot as her recent salsa routine, but Paige VanZant once again delivered a solid performance on the most recent episode of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Reunited with her injured dancer partner, Mark Ballas, VanZant returned to a UFC-inspired Octagon to dance the Paso Doble, which included an array of elbows, knees and other mixed martial arts (MMA) moves. The number earned a 23 (out of 30), which was down one point from last week’s score.
Judge Len Goodman was the one who was slightly down on VanZant’s performance, saying, “You’re a great teacher and a great choreographer. For me, it didn’t look like a Paso Doble.”
VanZant has not been back inside a real Octagon since her submission loss to Rose Namajunas at UFC Fight Night 80 back in Dec. 2015. In the meantime, she will live to dance another day next week, with fellow contestant Mischa Barton getting sent home early this evening.
