Watch highlights from Saturday’s HBO Boxing tripleheader.
Saturday night’s HBO Boxing card in New York featured a tripleheader of title fights, and Daniel Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) captured the vacant IBF middleweight belt with a thrilling split decision (113-114, 115-112, 115-112) win over Sergiy Derevyanchenko (12-1, 10 KOs), scoring an early knockdown on his way to a crucial victory that could set up a showdown with Canelo Alvarez next year.

Other action on the night included WBA super-featherweight champion Alberto Machado (21-0, 17 KOs) crushing Yuandale Evans (20-2, 14 KOs) in a round, scoring three knockdowns along the way before the referee stopped the fight. Honestly, there wasn’t a good reason for this fight to have continued after the second knockdown.
Lastly, Bellator MMA’s Heather Hardy (22-0, 4 KOs) won the vacant WBO women’s featherweight title by besting Shelly Vincent (23-2, 1 KO) by unanimous decision (99-91, 97-93, 97-93), marking the first time Hardy has won a major world title.
Oh yes, and HBO Boxing is going out in a blaze of… well it’s certainly not glory. I don’t know what they were doing here.
