Bellator 195: “Caldwell vs. Higo” is set to storm WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla. on March 2, 2018, airing live on Spike TV. This newly-announced card accelerates an already-packed schedule into overdrive for Bellator in 2018, with a brand new world title defense taking place in the main event.
“The Wolf” Darrion Caldwell (11-1) out-wrestled former champion Eduardo Dantas (20-5) for five straight rounds at Bellator 184 en route to a unanimous decision that saw the 135-pound title being wrapped around his waist. The only question after such a dominant victory was — who’s next?
Leandro Higo (18-3) is next … and with good reason. Even though he missed weight in his first world title shot at Bellator 177, then-champion Dantas only managed to escape with a split decision. Since then, Higo dominated Joe Taimanglo, the only man in Caldwell’s Bellator MMA tenure to hand him a loss. In other words this one makes perfect sense if we are following “MMA math.”
At this early date no other fights have been announced for the card, but tickets for Bellator 195 go on sale to the general public on Dec. 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. ET.
