Mackenzie Dern will make her return to the Octagon in a couple of months,
It looks like Mackenzie Dern will be looking to build on a big win in September when she steps back in the Octagon. According to a report from MMA Fighting, Dern (8-1, 3-1 UFC) will fight Randa Markos (10-8-1, 6-7-1 UFC) on a September 19th UFC event. That might be UFC 253, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
The event is expected to take place in Las Vegas, but we’ll have to wait and see on that.
Dern suffered her first career loss in 2019, dropping a decision to rising star Amanda Ribas. She rebounded well though, finishing Hannah Cifers with a kneebar in their May bout. That submission earned her a performance of the night bonus.
Markos is coming off her own decision loss to Ribas in March, and has alternated wins and losses (with one draw thrown in) for her entire UFC career. Her last win came in October 2019, a split decision victory over Ashley Yoder.
The September 19th event has no other fights attached to it as of yet.
