Despite speculation, Beerbohm vs. Ribeiro still set for May 15 Strikeforce event

A scheduled lightweight bout between Lyle “Fancy Pants” Beerbohm and Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro will go on as planned next Saturday at “Strikeforce St. Louis: Heavy Artillery.”

Phil Lanides, Beerbohm’s representative, today informed MMAjunkie.com of the news less than 24 hours after the fighter lit up message boards by stating he wanted out of his contract with the San Jose, Calif.-based fight promotion.

“I’ve spoken with Lyle, (Strikeforce CEO) Scott Coker and (Strikeforce matchmaker) Rich Chou, and the fight is on,” Lanides stated.
