After competing injured several times himself, Nate Diaz is supporting Conor McGregor’s decision to withdraw from UFC 303 with a broken pinky toe.

Nate Diaz believes it was a ‘good idea’ for Conor McGregor to pull out of UFC 303 after breaking his toe.

Diaz is 1-1 against McGregor and preparing to fight Jorge Masvidal in boxing next Saturday, July 6th. He knows more than a little about fighting while compromised: the Masvidal fight ended on a re-opened cut Nate had suffered two months prior against Anthony Pettis.

There’s also Diaz’s less than impressive outing against Jake Paul in boxing, which Nate blames on a shoulder / back injury. So the Stockton fighter gets it.

“Good idea. If I get f—ed up, I would like to push the fight back too,” Diaz told MMA Junkie while doing burpees. “But people f—ing freak out.”

“I think I wouldn’t want to fight until I’m 100 percent ready to rock too, because in the past I’ve done all kinds of s— I shouldn’t have done. So, I think he learned from experience and all these inexperienced people out there talking s—, just speaking for their inexperience.”

And all the noise being made now? No one’s even going to remember it after the fight finally happens.

“They’re going to have to deal with the criticism until the fight gets done,” Diaz said. “But I think it’ll happen and it’ll all be good.”

As for a potential third fight between Diaz and McGregor, Nate was less certain.

“I ain’t a fortune teller, you know what I’m saying? We’ll see what happens.”
