Soon thereafter, “The Stockton Slugger” took to Twitter to chime in on the legal matter and revealed plans for his long-awaited mixed martial arts (MMA) return.

“Im grateful this case is finally over, I want to thank my team and my lawyer Ross Goodman for the excellent work. But most importantly, I want to thank the fans that stuck by me throughout this process. I’m happy to put this chapter of my life behind me and I’m looking forward to focusing on my return.”
After being arrested, Diaz was eventually released on $18,000 bail. Now, the former 170-pound title contender will look to make a return to the fight game after sitting on the sidelines for nearly three years.
Indeed, Nick’s last taste of MMA action was in January of 2015 at UFC 183, where he came up short against Anderson Silva after five rounds of action. After settling his issues with United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA), “The Stockton Slugger” hinted at a 2019 return, though it was halted after the domestic violence case.
With all legal matters behind Diaz, the MMA world will finally get to see one of the most enigmatic figures in the history of the sport climb back into the cage to pump some more life into an already-stacked welterweight division.
Who do you want to see him face first?
