Will Dustin Poirier vs. Nate Diaz actually happen this November at UFC 230? It seems like no one but Diaz knows.
A thrilling lightweight bout between Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz was announced last week for UFC 230, and the two fighters even stared down at a recent press conference in Los Angeles. But it seems like when a Diaz brother is involved, nothing’s a done deal until both fighters are in the Octagon.
Diaz left the UFC’s 25th anniversary press conference, which preceded last Saturday’s UFC 227, when a title fight between champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor was announced for UFC 229 in October.
He shortly thereafter expressed his discontent with the promotion via social media.
“F-k the @ufc,” Diaz wrote on Twitter.
UFC president Dana White didn’t seem too worried about Diaz’s latest comments. White said after UFC 227 that he had “no idea” what Diaz meant in his tweet, and it didn’t seem like he had an answer for Diaz’s press-conference departure, either.
Days later, Diaz has sent out another tweet, this time saying he won’t “commit” — presumably to his scheduled fight against Poirier.
I can’t commit when they actin like shit….

“I can’t commit when they actin like shit,” Diaz wrote Tuesday night.
As of now, Poirier vs. Diaz is still on for UFC 230, but it seems like there’s a chance that won’t be the case by fight night. No one knows how serious Diaz really is about pulling out of the bout — only time will tell.
UFC 230 takes place Nov. 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. No main event has been confirmed for the card as of yet, but the card currently features a handful of pivotal middleweight bouts.
