The main event of UFC 244 between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal could be in jeopardy as Diaz claims the promotion has told him he has “elevated levels” for the fight.
It seems that Nate Diaz’s main event fight at UFC 244 against Jorge Masvidal could be in jeopardy, as the UFC has informed Diaz he has apparently tested for “elevated levels” for the fight.
Diaz, 34, is set to headline UFC 244 against Masvidal on November 2nd at Madison Square Garden. The Stockton native took to social media on Thursday to issue a statement about the news. He claims no wrongdoing in regards to the “elevated levels” the UFC have informed him of, instead flipping the blame onto the promotion for suggesting he should “keep quiet” about the news.

“I’m not gonna make it out to NYC for fight week next week because they say I tested with elevated levels that they say might be from some tainted supplements.” Diaz wrote. “I call false on that cause I only take Whole Food or natural food supplements. I don’t even eat meat.”
The UFC is yet to release any sort of official announcement about Diaz’s “elevated levels” in relation to his UFC 244 fight with Masvidal. Diaz has never tested positive for any banned substances in his MMA or UFC career.
“So until UFC, USADA or whoever is F—KING with me fixes it, I won’t be competing. I’m not gonna play their game and try and hit it or keep quiet, as they suggested. I’m not going to have my name tainted as a cheater like these other motherfuckers who keep quiet until after the fight so they can get paid. F—k*n cheaters.
“I don’t give a f—k about some money over my dignity and my legacy.” Nate Diaz stated. “I’m not staying quiet and figuring it out after the fight. That’s cheating. So fight game, I’ll see you when I see you. The realest baddest mother f—ker in the game.”
Diaz’s opponent, Masvidal, is yet to issue any sort of reply to the news, and it’s unclear if Diaz is pulled from the fight whether the UFC will seek a replacement for “Gamebred” to keep him on the New York card.
