Keepin’ it real (expensive).
Nate Diaz will rematch Jorge Masvidal under boxing rules atop the Fanmio pay-per-view (PPV) card on Sat., July 6, 2024 from inside Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Fans looking to purchase the “sweet science” event will need to shell out a whopping $79.99, making “Diaz vs. Masvidal 2” more expensive than Tyson Fury’s most recent title fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
“Don’t miss your chance at this early price to watch the epic rematch between combat super stars Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal putting their legacies on the line,” the Fanmio website boasts. “Will Diaz avenge his first fight with Masvidal and come out on top?”
I don’t want to be the old man yelling at the clouds but Diaz and Masvidal are both pushing 40. In addition, Diaz got his butt whooped when he boxed Jake Paul last summer and “Gamebred” hasn’t won a fight in nearly five years — when he defeated Diaz by way of doctor’s stoppage at UFC 244 in New York.
Maybe instead of the BMF belt they can fight for the WTF title, as in “WTF were they thinking when they decided fans would pay 80 bucks for this once-delayed cash grab.” Don’t be surprised to see the nefarious stream team back in action for this summer’s lowly-anticipated rematch.
