Dillon Danis says Bellator PPV ‘is not going to sell unless I’m on it’

Dillon Danis continues to throw out controversial statements after signing with Bellator despite never having an MMA fight.

Dillon Danis just keeps talking. The brash jiu jitsu star recently signed with Bellator despite not having a pro fight to his name, and he claimed that he was already the highest-paid guy on the roster. That didn’t sit well with a few different fighters in the promotion, but Danis doesn’t seem to care.

Now he has taken in a bit further. In an interview with MMA Junkie, he claims that Bellator’s PPV in June won’t do very well – unless he’s on the card, of course:

“We’d have to talk. We’d have to talk numbers, we’d have to talk everything. Just enticement. Because at the end of the day, that pay-per-view is not going to sell unless I’m on it.

“They’ve got a bunch of guys that no one cares about. But you put me on there, and the numbers will skyrocket, in my hometown, Madison Square Garden. The ball’s in their field.”

He’s also not about to back down from his comments about his Bellator salary, asking people that don’t believe him to step up to him:

“At the end of the day, I say what I want, I do what I want,” he said. “And no one’s going to stop me. If you don’t think I’m the highest paid, come say it to my face.”

Danis will compete at Submission Underground 4 next month against Jake Shields, and it remains unclear if he’ll actually make his MMA debut on the PPV or not. With the ADCCs coming up as well, it seems unlikely.
