Combate Americas
Combate Americas recently booked Desiree Yanez vs. Criszaida Adames for its return to television on Aug. 28, one of three mixed martial arts (MMA) closed-set fight cards headed for Miami, Fla., airing live on Univision, TUDN USA, AXS TV and Televisa Canal 5.
The bout will be contested at a catchweight of 120 pounds.
Yanez (5-2) saw her four-fight win streak snapped by way of controversial split decision to undefeated strawweight powerhouse Melissa Martinez last December. Prior to her “Super Mely” defeat, “Dirty Dez” captured a technical knockout victory over veteran bruiser Paulina Vargas.
As for Adames (2-0), she followed up her torrid four-fight win streak on the amateur circuit with consecutive victories in the pros, stopping Marisol Ruelas last September in Chicago before making a quick turnaround at Combate 47 in Monterrey, outlasting Alma Cespedes for a unanimous decision nod.
Here’s Combate Americas current Aug. 28 fight card:
125 lbs.: Juan Puerta (18-6) vs. David Duran (8-6)
155 lbs.: Elvin Espinoza (3-0) vs. Rudisel Mora (5-0-1)
170 lbs.: Eric Alequin (3-0) vs. Charles Decca (2-0)
160 lbs.: Jomal Rodriguez (3-2) vs. Lamar Brown (2-1)
