Junior dos Santos and Alexander Volkov will both hope to reignite their title aspirations when they clash in November.
A pair of heavyweight contenders will look to bounce back in Russia.
A bout between Junior dos Santos and Alexander Volkov is set to headline UFC Moscow on Nov. 9, UFC officials announced Saturday.
Dos Santos, a former UFC champion, suffered a brutal TKO loss to top contender Francis Ngannou in his last fight in the UFC Minneapolis main event in June. The loss snapped a three-fight winning streak for the Brazilian, which included finishes of Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa.
Volkov was also on the wrong end of a knockout in his last fight. “Drago” was stopped by Lewis with just seconds left in their three-round heavyweight contest at UFC 229 last October. Volkov was riding a six-fight winning streak prior to the Lewis fight, highlighted by a TKO of former champ Fabricio Werdum in 2018.
Volkov was scheduled to fight Alistair Overeem in the UFC St. Petersburg main event in April, but was forced out of the bout due to medical issues.
