Late night talk show host, Conan O’Brien, recently issued a challenge to former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, giving “Notorious” the opportunity to (finally) earn a stake in the world’s preeminent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion.

Challenge accepted.

Not only has McGregor agreed to fight O’Brien, he’s also willing to throw down against celebrity stakeholder and A-list actor Mark Wahlberg. Because double the wins means double the shares for (you guessed it) … the double champ.

“Challenge accepted Conan! I’ll whoop you and Walhberg in the same night,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “Double shares for the Double Champ!”

McGregor has been trying to leverage his popularity as a fighter for a piece of the corporate pie, a request that has been repeatedly denied by promotion president, Dana White. That said, the Las Vegas fight boss believes he can make “Notorious” happy without UFC ownership.

It certainly won’t be through pay-per-view (PPV) buys.
