Alexander Gustafsson has been selected to join Jon Jones on the EA Sports UFC cover Friday.
Gustafsson defeated Georges St-Pierre in a fan vote in the final. The Swedish light heavyweight also beat Chael Sonnen, Miesha Tate, and Daniel Cormier in his run to win the honor.
“It’s a thrill and an honor to appear on the cover of the first ever EA SPORTS UFC game,” said Gustafsson in a statement. “I want to thank all my fans who tirelessly campaigned and voted for me. I am proud to have the support of not only my home country, Sweden, and Europe, but also from people all around the globe. This is a huge win that motivates me to become the best light heavyweight fighter in the world.”
EA Sports UFC is expected to be released in Spring 2014.
Gustafsson and Jones both have fights lined up in March as well. Gustafsson will face Jimi Manuwa in the UFC Fight Night main event on March 8 in London, while Jones will face Glover Teixeira in the UFC 171 main event on March 15.
If they both win their fights, they will likely square off again. Jones defeated Gustafsson via unanimous decision at UFC 165.
