Ratings for this past weekends Bellator 39 event came in on Tuesday for the April 2 MTV2 live broadcast.
According to MMAjunkie.com, a total of 174,000 viewers tuned in for the Bellator 39 event which took place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The numbers were an improvement over viewer numbers from the past two weeks, Bellator 38 drew 150,000 viewers while Bellator 37 drew 173,000 viewers.
The highest viewer numbers for Bellator Fighting Championships fourth season were from Bellator 36, which had 230,000 viewers tune in.
Saturday’s event featured the lightweight title defense by champ Eddie Alvarez, who earned a unanimous decision over season two tournament winner Pat Curran. The event also saw the first fighters to move into the finals of the lightweight and welterweight tournaments, in Patricky “The Pitbull” Freire and Rick Hawn.
