Eddie Alvarez would love to prove himself in a rematch with Conor McGregor.
Former UFC lightweight champion turned ONE FC contender Eddie Alvarez is no stranger to defeat, but the MMA veteran admits his loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 205 was a difficult pill to swallow.
Alvarez, who has won titles in multiple MMA promotions, was completely outclassed at UFC 205 and suffered what would come to be the second TKO loss of his career, succumbing to a three-punch combination landed by McGregor in the second round of the blockbuster main event at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The usually aggressive Alvarez looked incredibly gun shy and hesitant against McGregor and, responding to a fan on Twitter, ‘The Underground King’ said he would love nothing more than to prove himself in a rematch with ‘The Notorious’.

“Without a doubt Connor, I am much better than that,” Alvarez responded when asked which loss he’d most like to avenge.
Alvarez, who parted ways with the UFC after his TKO loss to Dustin Poirier last year, will look to spring back into the winners column at ONE Championship: Dawn of Heroes, where he is scheduled to take on Eduard Folayang on August 2 at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.
