Eduard Pamplona has been appointed as head coach at Evolve MMA. He replaces Brian Ebersole in a role in which he will see him take charge of running the fight team at the Singapore based camp.
Pamplona boasts a 16-4 record and was formerly head coach at the Black House MMA gym. He will be in charge of a team which recently added Muay Thai and kickboxing stars Giorgio Petrosyan and Tenshin Nasukawa to its star studded roster.
“I’m extremely motivated to join Evolve MMA. I look forward to facing new challenges and achieving new things alongside all the great athletes at Evolve,” said Pamplona.
The 43 year old is a BJJ Belt under Ryan Gracie and a veteran of 40 professional Muay Thai fights. During his career he faced the likes of UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and Pancrase light heavyweight champion Sanae Kikuta.
Pamplona has fought in Japan and Korea and spent time training in Thailand so he is no stranger to Asian. First on the agenda for the Brazilian will be preparing Amir Khan for his fight with Honorio Banario at ONE: ‘Beyond the Horizon’ next month.
