Anyone who’s been following the UFC welterweight division for the past few years knows that former 170-pound champion, Tyron Woodley, is easily rattled, which is why so many of his fellow contenders like to get under his skin whenever possible.
In all fairness, Woodley has a way of making it easy for the thirsty “welterwhiners.” Case in point: “The Chosen One” is currently in the midst of his budding rap career, which ranges from the generic and tired to the bizarre and batty.
A fact not lost on upcoming opponent, Leon Edwards.
“I put the [rap] meme up and I can’t remember what it was, I deleted it and he blocked me after,” Edwards told Eurobash (via MMA Fighting). “I don’t know [the DM] was something like, ‘You punk-ass, I’m going to knock you out,’ and blah, blah, blah…and ‘I make more money than you’…just a bag of nonsense, really. I deleted it after and then he blocked me. I think I really got on his nerves…but he is a crap rapper…everyone knows he’s shit! I don’t understand what the issue is. I might walk out to his music – that might be funny. That would be a good little dig at him before the fight! We’ll see.”
In his last fight, Woodley walked out to “I’ll Beat Yo’ Ass” by … Tyron Woodley.
Edwards will face off against “The Chosen One” in the upcoming UFC Fight Night 171 main event set for Sat., March 21, 2020 inside O2 Arena in London, England. The victor is expected to draw the winner of Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal, who hook ‘em up this summer for “The Nigerian Nightmare’s” welterweight strap.
