Longtime welterweight contender Leon Edwards will continue to stay busy in the 170-pound division when he collides with mouthy fan favorite Nate Diaz in the upcoming UFC 262 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, scheduled for May 15 in Houston, Texas.
And he’ll do it as the -350 betting favorite.
That’s according to our fiscal friends over at BetOnline.ag, who pegged Diaz as the +285 underdog. Probably because the slap-happy Stocktonite has only competed twice since 2016 and missed all of 2020 being grumpy over the state of the division.
Edwards also sat out during the promotion’s 2020 fight campaign, but he can at least say he was booked twice during that span. Once against Tyron Woodley and once against Khamzat Chimaev, though both contests went down in flames thanks to COVID-19.
Still no word yet on the odds that Edwards vs. Diaz ends via nasty eye poke.
UFC 262 will be headlined by the lightweight title fight between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira, who collide for the 155-pound strap recently vacated by the now-retired Khabib Nurmagomedov.
